| Getting Started in Kart Racing Kart racing is the world's most popular and least expensive forms of racing, but don't let the size of the vehicles or the smaller price tag fool you -- racing karts have the gut wrenching, nail biting excitement of full-sized, open wheel racing. Adrenaline is a key component of kart racing -- get into a kart and you will see. Although scaled down in terms of speed and complexity, karting compares favorably to Indy cars and Formula 1 racing in terms of on-track feel. Learn more here on the getting started pages. Some of
us have had an interest in the many
forms of auto racing, but never really had the resources to entertain
that dream. I'm
hear to tell you that you can re-capture that
excitement and fulfill that dream with todays modern racing karts.
These karts are not the heavy, slow and restricted karts you found at amusement parks and they are not the dune buggy / quasi off road home built you see in the gravel pits and at some oval tracks. These are professional level racing karts that have exceptional handling, high speed and bring the full thrill of auto racing at hobby level costs. This hobby is open to a broad spectrum of racers. You have the younger set who are interested in competitive racing with the potential to develop into a formal career in that field as well as those are just interested in a competitive hobby that fulfills some of their earlier aspirations to be "racers". There is even room for the 30, 40, 50 or 60 something crowd! This small site is devoted to inform and educate you on what is actually available in the Regina area and how those young and old can enjoy open wheel racing. There is even a chance to explore racing beyond the local level into some provincial and regional events where you can experience new tracks and enjoy some friendly competition. Hope to see you on the track. Bart Ritchie South Sask Kart Club - Kart 54 ...taking a different view to "Freedom 55"
